If you have a pension in one country, a brokerage in another and a bank in a third, most finance apps fail you on the first screen: they connect to one country’s banks and show one currency. This is a list of the ones that do not, with the facts on each, and a short list of popular apps that are wrong for this job so you can stop evaluating them.
Three things decide whether a tracker works across borders. Which aggregators it uses, because each one covers different countries (Plaid and Yodlee for North America and some of Europe, Salt Edge for the UK and EU, Akahu for New Zealand, Basiq for Australia, Lean for the Gulf). Whether an asset can be held in its own currency and converted to a base currency you choose. And whether the things no aggregator reaches, a foreign pension or a flat, can be kept current without re-typing.
Table of aggregators (Plaid, Yodlee, Salt Edge, Akahu, Lean, SnapTrade, Basiq, Powens, Web Sync), the regions they reach and which trackers use them
Seven that work across borders
Kubera
$250 a year; 14-day free trial
Nine aggregators (Plaid, Yodlee, MX, Akoya, Mastercard, Salt Edge, Lean, Akahu, SnapTrade) plus in-house connections: 20,000+ institutions across 40+ countries, including the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, UAE, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Any asset in any currency, converted at rates refreshed every two hours. Web Sync for banks no aggregator reaches. Crypto, property, private investments and debts on the same page.
Pick it ifYour money is in several countries and you want the whole balance sheet, synced, in one base currency.
Not ifYou want a budget, or your accounts are all in one country and a cheaper single-country app will do.
Sharesight
Free for 10 holdings; $7–$23.25 a month billed annually
A share-portfolio tracker covering 60+ markets and over 100 currencies, reporting in the currency of your tax residence. Investments only: no bank aggregation, no liabilities, so no net worth. The multi-currency valuation report needs the Standard plan.
Pick it ifYour cross-border wealth is mainly listed shares and you want performance and tax reports by market.
Not ifYou want bank balances, property, loans or a net-worth number.
PocketSmith
From $9.99 a month billed annually; free plan is manual
A budgeting and forecasting app with bank feeds through Yodlee, Plaid, Salt Edge, Akahu, Basiq and Mastercard (US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand). Converts every account to one base currency, including BTC and gold.
Pick it ifYou want a budget that spans two countries more than you want a balance sheet.
Not ifYou want investment detail; it is budgeting-first, and one account cannot hold mixed currencies.
Finary
€54.99–€349.99 a year
A French wealth app for the EU: Powens and Plaid connections including Revolut, N26 and Wise; display in EUR, USD, CHF, GBP, SGD or CAD; a holding mode for entities on Pro.
Pick it ifMost of your money is in France or the eurozone and you want an EU-native app.
Not ifYour accounts are mostly outside Europe; property and loans are held in the display currency.
Wealthica
$50–$250 a year (currency not stated)
Canada’s aggregator-first tracker: 20,000+ institutions claimed, US institutions on the Premium plan and up.
Pick it ifYou are Canadian with some US accounts.
Not ifYou have accounts outside Canada and the US.
Exirio
$89–$275 a year
A net-worth tracker with 40+ currencies and 12,000+ banks claimed; the aggregators and countries behind that are not disclosed, and the Starter plan shows ads.
Pick it ifYou want a cheaper multi-currency tracker and can confirm your banks connect during the trial.
Not ifYou need to know which countries are covered before you sign up.
A spreadsheet
Free
Any currency, any country, GOOGLEFINANCE for FX and share prices. Every balance typed by you.
Pick it ifFew accounts, and you do not mind the monthly chore.
Not ifMore than a handful of institutions, or you want history you did not save.

Two cards contrasting a display-only currency setting with true per-asset conversion
The popular apps that are wrong for this
Empower Personal Dashboard connects to US institutions only and shows US dollars only; foreign accounts are manual entries. Monarch Money supports USD and CAD and performs no conversion, adding a ¥1,000 transaction as $1,000, and says it has no near-term plans to change that. Copilot Money is US institutions, US dollars, the US App Store. YNAB recommends a separate budget per currency. None of these is a bad app; each one is the wrong app for a person with money in two countries, and it is better to know that before the free trial.
What “multi-currency” should mean
Two different things get sold under the same word. The weak version is a display setting: the app shows a currency symbol and adds the numbers up. The strong version holds each asset in its own currency, converts at a current rate to a base currency you chose, and keeps the history in both. If your flat in Lisbon is worth €400,000 and your base is dollars, the strong version moves with the euro; the weak version shows $400,000 forever. Ask the app which one it does. Kubera, PocketSmith and Finary do the strong version; the table above says what the others do.
People living in a second or third country
“I've lived in 3 countries and have bank accounts, investments, retirement accounts, and property in multiple locations and currencies. Kubera is the first time I've EVER been able to see my full financial picture in one place.”
Which net-worth tracker connects to banks outside the US?
Kubera (40+ countries through nine aggregators), PocketSmith (US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand), Finary (EU) and Wealthica (Canada and US). Empower, Monarch and Copilot connect to US (and for Monarch, Canadian) institutions only.
Does Kubera convert currencies?
Yes. Each asset is held in its own currency and converted to your base currency at rates refreshed every two hours. History is kept in both.
What if my bank is not supported by any aggregator?
Kubera’s Web Sync keeps the balance current for institutions no aggregator reaches, and AI import reads statements for the rest.
Can I track a foreign pension?
In Kubera, yes, as an asset in its own currency, synced where the provider connects and manual or Web Sync where it does not.
I've used tons of net worth tracking apps. Kubera is my favorite by FAR. I have zero affiliation. I'm pretty sure it's a tiny team. But they've been launching so many cool features and are moving fast.
Kubera has proved to be the best product we’ve found for expats — both those moving to the United States and Americans moving abroad — to manage their global investments and track them in the currency of their choice.
